International Day of Forests 2020

In 2012 the UN declared 21st March the International Day of Forests (IDF), an effort to raise awareness of the importance of forests globally.

Each year has a theme, with 2020 focusing on Forests and Biodiversity which aims to educate people of the threats to ecosystems within our forests such as deforestation, forest degradation and climate change. These threats will ultimately have a wider impact on the world and IDF strives to highlight the need for conservation and, where needed, restoration of our forests in order to sustain people, biodiversity and the climate.

You can get involved by making a donation to the Tree Council, who will use your contribution to plant and care for trees locally and nationally. Every little helps!
